In accordance with the provisions of the Localism Act 2011, the Town Council has a Code of Conduct. The Code sets out the expected behaviour of Councillors.

The Standards Committee of the East Riding of Yorkshire Council is responsible for receiving and dealing with complaints about individual Councillors. Following the Localism Act 2011 the requirement for the higher authority to have a Standards Committee was removed but there is still a responsibility to receive and determine complaints. Rather than delegating the decision to officers, the East Riding of Yorkshire Council has chosen to retain a Standards Committee.
Complaints - Anyone wishing to make a complaint about a Councillor should write to Mathew Buckley, Monitoring Officer, County Hall, Beverley, HU17 9BA or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
